Fall Vacation: Day 1 & 2

Day 1:  I was super excited for my fall vacation to visit Chris, Lindsay, & Aly.  I was even more excited that I found a direct flight without any layovers that arrived in DC at 3:30.  It was going to be perfect.  I was going to get there early enough that we could do my hair that afternoon and hit up Taco Tuesday at Cafe Rio.  The vacation part would then commence.  Ahhh, the best laid plans.

I had arrived in Vegas on Monday night to stay with Neil & Sara.  Neil was going to drop me off at the airport on his way to work.  After a nice little visit, I checked my flight time and headed off to bed.  The next morning we got up and made it through morning traffic and arrived at the airport at 7:33.  Perfect timing since my flight departed at 8:30.  Wrong!  I went to check in and found out that I couldn't.  I had actually looked at the time for my return flight from DC instead of my departing flight.  My flight left Vegas at 8:00 and since I wasn't there 30 minutes before departure, I was bumped to the next available flight . . . at 1:30.  Yes, since I was there only 27 minutes before the flight, I got the privilege of waiting 5 1/2 hours until the next flight.  Also, it cost me $75 extra.  Lucky for me, Sara was nice enough to come pick me up.  I rented a locker at the airport for my bags, and we went and did a little shopping and had an early lunch at Cheesecake Factory.

I finally arrived in DC at 9:00.  I didn't get my hair done that night, but I did get Taco Tuesday.  Thanks Lindsay.  Then we stayed up until 1:00 visiting.  It was so much fun.

Day 2:  We had to do hair on Wednesday morning since I told Lindsay I wasn't going to be in any vacation pictures until it looked cute.  Since that occupied our morning, we decided to do a little shopping in the afternoon (Hello, Charming Charlie and Forever 21).  As part of our afternoon shopping trip, I insisted that we visit this magical place Lindsay talks about. It was certainly a "Unique" experience.

Remember Lindsay, everyone's trash is not always your treasure.  I really wanted to buy this doll, but since I only took a carry-on, there wasn't room in the luggage.  Darn!

Here is our self portrait in the rain.  We had to document the occasion after all.

To Be Continued . . .
